National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, Florence Nightingale’s birthday. We are incredibly proud of our nurses at Arbutus, and will introduce you to a number of them during the course of the week. This week we would like to introduce you to some of our wonderful nurses.

Nursing Week Staff Profile: Abalene Stull LPN

When did you join the team here at Arbutus? I started here 15 months ago.

What is your favorite thing about being at Arbutus? I appreciate the Arbutus emblem and what it stands for, the principles that it is based on. It means something to me personally. When I interviewed here I visited the chapel while there was a program going on and I knew this was where I wanted to work.

How did you get into nursing? I had lost my job and decided to get an education of some sort. I had just accepted a full-time job when I started going to school.

When you aren’t at Arbutus, what do you like to do? I enjoy spending time with my family, and fishing.

If you could meet anyone, living or deceased, who would it be? I would have liked to have met my grandparents on my father’s side.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? South Carolina, which is where I want to retire. We’ve made several trips to the beach, and I love the temperature and the ocean.
