As we celebrate National Nutrition month, each week we will spotlight a member of our wonderful Food Service staff here at Arbutus.
This week we get to know our cook, Maggie Moak!

Tell us a little about yourself: I just recently got married, am from Johnstown, and went to high school at Ferndale which is one of the smaller school districts around here.

When did you join the team here at Arbutus? I started here eight years ago, Jo in the therapy department told me about Arbutus and I thought it was a good opportunity.

What is your favorite thing about being at Arbutus? Arbutus has a very ‘homey’ feeling. Everyone here really knows each other and are very nice.

How did you get into the food service industry? Food has always been a passion of mine, so I applied here at Arbutus.

What is your favorite meal? Steak

What is your least favorite meal? Any kind of seafood

When you aren’t at Arbutus, what do you like to do? I love to knit, and have my own Esty shop. I knit hats, scarves, bags, and more.

If you could meet anyone, living or deceased, who would it be? Definitely Chef Gordon Ramsey, I love him and his show.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? I have always had a goal of visiting Ireland. I am partially Irish and would love to visit there.

Finish this sentence: The Best Thing in Life is: being happy.
