Tell us a little about yourself: I’ve been married for 30 years. We have 2 children and 2 grandchildren, with another on the way. I enjoy spending time with my family, used to bowl, and have gone on cruises.

When did you join the team here at Arbutus? This past December was 36 years.

What is your favorite thing about being at Arbutus? Meeting residents and their families, getting to know our Cottagers. Facilitating and creating for special events and outside groups.

How did you get into the food service industry? In 11th grade I joined the co-op program through Johnstown Vo-tech taking food prep courses.

What is your favorite meal? Anything chicken and gravy, I don’t care for beef or steak.

What is your least favorite meal? Anything seafood – not a fan. (Fish sticks aren’t seafood!)

When you aren’t at Arbutus, what do you like to do? Spend time with my son and daughter, grandkids, and relaxing. I also do cooking and baking projects on the side like nut rolls, pumpkin rolls, and Christmas cookie platters. I like to challenge myself with new recipes and trying new things, although the older I get the less time I seem to have.

If you could meet anyone, living or deceased, who would it be? My grandparents, growing up I only had one. I’d also like to meet Gordon Ramsey in person, as well as Sylvester Stallone- I’ve always been a fan of ‘Rocky.’
