FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Boards of Directors for Two Historic Senior Care Providers, Concordia and Arbutus Park, Sign Letter of Intent
Johnstown, Pa. – The Boards of Directors for Concordia Lutheran Ministries and Arbutus Park Retirement Community recently signed a non-binding letter of intent for Arbutus to join the Concordia family of locations and services. Both organizations will work through the due diligence process over the next several months toward an expected affiliation date in the summer.
Arbutus Park Retirement Community, based in Johnstown, PA, is a faith-based non-profit organization that has been serving the needs of older individuals since 1973. Arbutus provides skilled nursing, personal care and independent retirement living accommodations.
Founded in 1881, Concordia Lutheran Ministries is a faith-based Aging Services Network. As one of the largest nonprofit senior care providers in the country, the organization serves 50,000 people annually through in-home care and inpatient locations. Throughout its system, Concordia offers adult day services, home health care, hospice, medical and rehabilitation services, memory care, personal care, assisted living, respite care, retirement living, skilled nursing/short-term rehab, spiritual care and medical equipment.
Concordia has worked for nearly 15 years to become a “Christian consolidator” in the industry – to protect and preserve organizations with Christian roots and to aid in the long-term support of Christian health care ministries. Arbutus’ faith-based mission aligns well with Concordia’s, and the Board of Directors at both organizations are excited for the opportunity to extend their healing mission together.
Due to the ongoing reviews of legal and regulatory matters, no additional information is available at this time. To learn more about each organization, visit www.ConcordiaLM.org and www.arbutusparkmanor.com.
