Dear Family and Friends of APRC,

During the past week, Arbutus Park continued to conduct COVID-19 testing on nursing/personal care residents and manor employees. As of Friday, February 5th, the test results for that week period showed zero new positive cases of COVID in the residents and one positive test for staff members.

We had no new deaths in residents who had COVID documented as their secondary cause of death during that period. Since our first case of COVID-19, 74 residents of Arbutus have recovered from the virus.

At present, all non-positive manor residents are being tested for the coronavirus weekly. All non-positive employees up to this point are being tested twice a week. Immediate rapid tests are also run on anyone who is showing potential COVID-19 symptoms. This will continue until directed otherwise by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. All employees are wearing full protective equipment when providing direct care to residents.

VACCINES
We have had two internal vaccine clinics, with all but three of the residents receiving both vaccinations. Approximately 142 employees have been vaccinated, with more occurring next week. Though the vaccine is not mandatory, we encourage all employees and residents to consider getting this treatment to help build a stronger immunity against the virus. We continue to work diligently on getting vaccines for our cottagers, but struggle with full confirmation because of national supply issues.

We want to give our sincerest appreciation to the wonderful family members who have been so understanding. We are committed to continue our fight against this pandemic the best we are able and continue to be fully transparent with our families.
