Dear family and friends of APRC,

Arbutus Park has continued to conduct COVID-19 testing on nursing/personal care residents and manor employees. As of Friday, February 26th, the test results for a two week period showed one new positive case of COVID in the residents and zero positive tests for staff members. We had no new deaths in residents who had COVID documented as their secondary cause of death during that period.

At present, all non-positive manor residents are being tested for the coronavirus weekly. All non-positive employees up to this point are also being tested weekly.. Immediate rapid tests are also run on anyone who is showing potential COVID-19 symptoms. This will continue until directed otherwise by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. All employees are wearing full protective equipment when providing direct care to residents.

We are getting close to receiving final approvals for our indoor “chatterbox” that we’ve been working on for the last couple of months. Hopefully, we will be able to get families out of the cold and able to talk with their loved ones in comfort. We will keep you updated.
