Dear Family and Friends of APRC

Since our update on November 13, Arbutus Park has continued to conduct COVID-19 testing on all nursing/personal care residents and manor employees. As of Friday, November 20th, the test results show 10 new positive cases of COVID in our residents and 17 positive tests for staff members. The affected residents were moved to our COVID Care Unit where they will be cared for by a nursing care team dedicated to that unit. The affected employees have been sent home to quarantine. Also in that week time period, 5 previously positive tested residents have recovered from symptoms and been removed from the COVID Unit.

We also had 6 new deaths in residents who had COVID documented as their secondary cause of death during the week period. We ask that you please keep their families in your prayers.

At present, all manor residents and all nursing employees in the skilled units and personal care units are being tested for COVID-19 weekly. Immediate tests are also run on anyone who is showing potential COVID-19 symptoms. This will continue until directed otherwise by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. All employees are wearing full personal protective equipment when providing direct care to residents.

Our staff has been amazing as they pitch in to help wherever they can while their co-workers are quarantined. I promise we will continue our fight against this pandemic and continue to be transparent with information for our families.
