Basic Qualifications
Education / Training
A high school diploma or equivalent; successful completion of a Pennsylvania state-approved Nursing Assistant course; twelve (12) hours of continuing education per year required; must pass Nurse Aide Certification examination.
Skill(s)
Moderate reading, writing skills, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; ability to bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach and lift items weighing 50 lbs. or less; satisfactory completion of pre-employment physical (post offer); visual and auditory skills.

Essential Duties
Certified Nurse Aides perform direct resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel. Duties include washing and bathing residents, toileting, ambulation, assisting with restorative nursing, feeding and assisting in the dining areas, preparing residents for doctor appointments, ensuring residents are prepared for therapy and beauty shop services, and assisting families with requests.
Employees selected for this position are not required to have experience but they do need to be dedicated to ensuring patient care, able to demonstrate strong skills as a team player and have completed the requirements for obtaining a Pennsylvania certification as a Certified Nurse Aide. Selected candidates will also successfully complete several Criminal Record Checks, TB tests, a medical and physical exam as well as a drug screen prior to employment.
